# List of phobias This is a list of various phobias, grouped based on their general phenomenology and whether they're targeting a commonplace or unusual/dangerous thing In general, a phobia needs the following: 1. Overblown [fear](mind-feelings-fear.md) or dislike of something 2. An object of the fear, irrespective of whether it's an actually dangerous thing 3. Someone who can clinically diagnose it It's reasonable to assume that all people have at least one of the following phobias It's also reasonable that every experience with [PTSD](hardship-ptsd.md) will yield new phobias, at least until that person has worked through the trauma.
