# The Java programming language Java was made by a committee, and is compiled. It has *tons* of unnecessary syntax, but it's still the industry standard for many technologies (such as Android apps). It exists mostly because it's been existing, though it's waned in popularity somewhat now that other languages like Rust have become more powerful and easier to work with. While the language is portable and runs on anything, the code itself can be verbose and resource allocation can sometimes be a total nightmare. However, much of the modern world runs on old Java 8 infrastructure because it uses boilerplate solutions. To run Java, it must be compiled every time with javac.
